Wood River Youth Football Mission Statement
Wood River Youth Footballs Main Objectives are:

To provide a wholesome, enjoyable experience of playing football for area youths while teaching the basic fundamentals of the game, teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline and a response to leadership.

To provide a satisfying, rewarding experience for all participants in the program.

To provide a well-organized and implemented program that is appreciated by the parents and the community.

To have a consistent approach to coaching year after year by teaching kids the same systems, techniques and methods as chosen by the Wood River Youth Football Board of Directors.

To provide an activity where all kids have the chance to play and have fun in an effort to keep them in the football program and learning football skills until they develop into young men who could help the next levels of local area football teams achieve success.
While operating under the auspices of the Boise Noon Optimist Youth Football Program
WRYF sponsors the following age group teams: Composition of the tackle teams is driven by age and weight.
1. 7-8 year-old flag. This is a combined age group team.
2. 9-year-old tackle
3. 10-year-old tackle
4. 11-year-old tackle
5. 12-year-old tackle
Our season runs from the second Monday of August through the last week of October.
A program wide Football Jamboree is played in Boise on the last Saturday of August each year at Bronco Stadium in Boise. All teams from the Boise Noon Optimist Football Program attend. This is a huge event with around 4,000 players in attendance.
