The Football season started on Saturday with a great deal of fanfare, pomp, colors and team spirit displayed throughout the Middle School Field. Over one hundred sixty participants from the Boise area came to the valley

to play the Wood River teams. Please see the photos and story lines on our website at the teams locations. The Final scores were:

congratulations to the card sales winners. They were

1st place Tyler Petersen - 60 Cards won $100.00

2nd place Lieder Schwartz - 35 Cards won $50.00

3rd place Stephen Roth - 30 Cards won 25.00

We will be ordering under armore shirts this week for the many kids who sold 15.

1) What is the Wood River Youth Football Program?

Wood River Youth Football will offer its eleventh season of tackle football to area kids this year. Wood River Youth Football was started by Jim King, the

Middle School Athletic Director in 1999 to have a developmental program offered to all 7 to 12 year olds. We play under the auspices of “Boise Noon

Optimist”. The Boise Noon Optimist football program has been a successful program for over fifty years in the Boise area. Wood River Youth Football plays

under the Boise program as an “outside area program “. It enabled us to step into an already successful program and have the benefits they have to offer IE.

Scheduling, rules and guidelines to follow, insurance. We credit a lot of our success to being associated with them.

2) Does every child play?

Boise Noon Optimist requires every child to play a minimum of 5 plays per half. Wood River Youth Football is a development program, not an All Star

Program and we comply with Boise Noon Optimist Policies.

3) Is there a tryout?

No! Teams are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

4) Are scholarships available?
